Resolution honoring Charles E. Menefee, Jr.

Resolution in Appreciation of

Charles Edwin Menefee, Jr.

Trustee, Advisor and Friend

Your contributions to our community are a proud legacy. As an astute financial manager and advisor, you have guided, protected and helped prepare countless individuals and organizations who became more than clients or colleagues; they were your wider family of caring and concern.

As a warm friend, well-read citizen and world traveler, you have shared your pleasure in new ideas and new places. You have taught your children to enjoy life and use their considerable talents to help others. You have helped all who know you to think more broadly and enjoy a good joke. You are a genuine character in the best sense and your infectious laugh spreads joy.

The Charleston Museum and The Joanna Foundation have benefitted most and longest from your loyalty and judgment. You served as Museum trustee for 12 years from 1980 to 1992. You started advising The Joanna Foundation in the early 1980s and served as a trustee for 25 years from 1989 to 2014. Your dedication and service are unparalleled.

Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, in honor of your exceptional service to both organizations, the trustees of The Joanna Foundation in conjunction with the leadership of The Charleston Museum do hereby present a gift to be known as the Charles E. Menefee, Jr. Fund in support of the Natural History Gallery.

Given with honor and affection this 24th day of October, 2014, in Charleston, South Carolina.

Walter C. Regnery, President, The Joanna Foundation           Carl P. Borick, Director, The Charleston Museum
